Why should you have a holiday?
Reasons why you should have a holiday? Quoted from “Life’s Little Instruction Book” by H Jacobson Brown We love this book! It is a list of guidelines a father sat down and wrote for his son the night before he left home for university.
- After you’ve worked hard to get what you want, take time to enjoy it.
- Get your priorities straight. No one ever said on his death bed — “Gee, if only I’d spent more time at the office!”
- Take family vacations whether you can afford them or not. The memories will be priceless.
- Don’t say you don’t have enough time. You have exactly the same number of hours per day that were given to Helen Keller, Louis Pasteur, Michelangelo, Mother Theresa, Leonardo da Vinci and Albert Einstein.
Some other little instructions the father gave to his son that we love….
- Never watch hot dogs or sausages being made.
- Compliment 3 people every day
- Use the good silver
- Own a great stereo system
- Buy vegetables from truck farmers who advertise with hand lettered signs.
- Live so that when your children think of integrity, fairness and caring they think of you.
- Remember that all news is biased.
- Be brave. Even if you’re not, pretend to be. No one can tell the difference.
- Forget the Joneses
- Choose your life’s mate carefully. From this one decision will come ninety percent of your happiness or misery.
- Wear out don’t rust out.
- Wave to crossing guards.
- Street musicians are a treasure. Stop for a moment and listen; then leave a small donation.
- Have a friend who owns a truck.
- Call your mother
