MONA –Museum of Old and New Art - A must see while in Hobart. Put this at the top of your list. There is nothing remotely like this anywhere else in Australia.
If you think you are not in to art visit it just for the building itself and for their Morilla wine and Moo Brew ales. GO VISIT and thank us later!
Our North Hobart
We are only a kilometre form the North Hobart restaurant strip with over 45 different restaurants and cafes.
Our recommendations for breakfast are Raincheck Lounge Bar and Segretto.
Both have some of the best coffee in Hobart.
The bacon alone at Segretto is worth a visit and our picks for Raincheck are the Bircher Muesli and fruit toast with cinnamon butter.
The Republic Bar is a Hobart icon. A must visit for nightly live music and great pub meals.
World class fine dining can be found at Restaurant 373 and amazing cakes at Sweet Envy.
North Hobart has its own Tapas Bar at Onbar and authentic Indian at Annapurna.
Vanidols restaurant is a Hobart institution for Thai food lovers and Fish 349 uses local fresh produce and serves your meal in minutes.
The State Cinema – 5 screens and a licensed café bar – great coffee. Take your wine or coffee into the theatre with you.
Pssst – a secret – Liverpool St in the city – Cultura, a newly opened Italian Restaurant – the food is so good you feel you are in Italy and ladies are all treated as if they are Sophia Loren or Gina Lollabrigida – great for the ego! Breakfast and lunch only.
